Sölden - ski, party and relax in a traditional Austrian ski resort
The two main ski resorts in the Ötztal region of the Austrian Alps are
Obergurgl and
Sölden.
The Otzal valley climbs up from an altitude of 700 to over 2,000 metres.
At the entry to the valley is Haiming, an ideal access point for the sports
and recreational facilities.
Visit Ochsengarten, a cosy village with a view of the Oetztal and Stubai Alps,
and Kühtai - the highest winter sports resort in Austria.

Obergurgl is a traffic-free picturesque Alpine town, framed by an ancient church steeple
and traditional wooden chalets, but its livelierneighbour offers better value.
Sölden sprawls along a busy main road and is known as party central, play hard après-ski
second only to the Austrian resort of Ischgl but includes great skiing.
Sölden has access to three mountains of more that 3000 metres. Tiefenbach and Retenbach
being two of the big glaciers. Sölden is split into three main ski areas:-
- Giggijoch-Hochsölden accessed via the Giggijoch cable car
- Gaislachkogl accessed via the Gaislachkogl gondola station
- Golden Gate
Visit the small villages of
Zwieselstein and
Vent or sample the steel-and glass Top
Mountain Star restaurant which is situated above Hochgurgl. From its terrace vantage point you
can view the a complete three sixty view of the Italian Dolomites and the Alps.
Experience the Aqua Dome public spa which offers a glass-domed swimming pool, whirlpools,
steam rooms and an outdoor plunge pool.
The resort of Sölden offers quieter bars and quality family hotels to allow you to escape the
full-on night-time Tyrolean action.
